0700-Finished morning study. Verse for the day: "For the time will come when people will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear." (2 Timothy 4:3)
Next is breakfast, load kayak, equipment, coolers and go over final checklist.

1630-Finished dinner and sat on the stern deck to enjoy the first evening on the water for this season. Had two visitors hike down the hill through the woods with a dog. They hung around for a bit and headed back up the hill.
A small aluminum fishing boat passed too close astern with three aboard and said hi. They headed further into the oxbow. Not sure why they came so close.

Observed a mink on a nearby blow down and tried to take a photo but he was too quick. Did get a pic of a muskrat swimming. Heard, but did not see, sandhill cranes heading for their evening roost. The swallows love flying close by the boat. Observed one large hawk fly by, maybe a rough legged. I did not get a good look. Cool evening.
2100-Hit the sack after listening to my current audio book "Blood Orchid" by Stuart Woods.
